Ms. FENG Cheng is the Chair of the Duke Kunshan University Education Development Foundation (DKU Foundation), and the Senior Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Duke Kunshan University (DKU). In charge of DKU’s fundraising and alumni relations work, Cheng joined DKU in 2013 and has built the DKU Development and Alumni Relations team as well as the DKU Foundation from scratch.
Cheng has diverse professional experience in marketing, communication, development and policy research in both non-profit organizations and Fortune Global 500 companies. She started her career as a marketing professional at L’Oreal China where she successfully launched one of the company’s top-selling products in China. In MSD China (known as Merck in U.S. and Canada), she was in charge of corporate branding and internal communications for this organization with more than 5,000 employees, winning both the CEO Award and the global Award for Excellence.
Among her non-profit endeavors, Cheng created and led the first panel on China’s non-profit sector for the Harvard China Forum; her research work for the United Nations and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development had been published as part of their reports. As an art lover, she was deeply involved in the development and volunteer work for the Metropolitan Museum and Jazz at Lincoln Center while living and working in New York City from 2008 to 2010.
Raised in Shanghai, China, Cheng got her bachelor’s degrees in English and Economics from Peking University and her master’s degree in Public Policy (MPP) from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy.
