Catherine Lu is an investor and advocator for education, culture and ESG/Impact Investment. She is the Senior Specialist to Beijing Financial Holdings to initiate ESG framework for Beijing Government, and a Chinese ESG case study scholar for Columbia University and UN. She serves as the Trustee member of Youth Patrons of Lincoln Center, leading the efforts to promote liberal arts education and to strengthen the cultural exchange between the US and China. She has also initiated 3 education lab projects with new technology through her involvement with Chinese apparel conglomerates and Ed tech unicorn companies.
She founded the Global Shaper Hangzhou Hub for World Economic Forum in 2015, the first tech hub in China, gathering a team of 15 capable shapers as task force to fulfill the project of “Hangzhou on T-shirt” as the voice of youth and local to broadcast Hangzhou’s culture during the 2016 G20 Conference. Such initiate has been highly appraised by the China government and World Economic Forum.
Catherine is a Member of All-China Youth Federation. She is a graduate from Duke University School of Law and is admitted to both Chinese and New York bar. She has more than 10 years experiences in investment sector, was mentored by Mr. Thomas. H. Lee, a leading American investor who is one of the early pioneers in private equity and served as Director, China Operations for Thomas H. Lee Capital /Lee Capital Partners where she was responsible for China strategy and invest on education and fashion sectors. Catherine is also a senior advisor to the consulting company associated with former US Secretary Henry Paulson.
