Mr. Zhou is currently a Global Partner and Co-Head of China at Warburg Pincus, where he is responsible for the overall management of Warburg Pincus’ equity investments in the financial services, enterprise services and industrial technology sectors in Greater China.
Mr. Zhou joined Warburg Pincus in 2005 and has been with Warburg Pincus for almost 20 years. He founded Warburg Pincus’ China financial services team, leading landmark investments in Zhong Ou Asset Management, Huabao Fund, Zhongyuan Consumer Finance, Ant Financial, among others, and serves as director of multiple portfolio companies. He also leads the firm’s industrial technology investments in semiconductors, new energy, and related areas.
Mr. Zhou has long been in close communication with China’s economic and financial regulators. In addition, he assists Mr. Timothy Geithner, Chairman of the Warburg Pincus, in coordinating cross-border dialogues on trade and financial exchanges between the East and the West.
Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he was with Citigroup’s Investment Banking Division and Credit Suisse First Boston’s Investment Banking Division. He received a BA in Business with Honors and a BEng in Electrical Engineering from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, and EMBA from Tsinghua WuDaoKou Graduate School.
